Baker Brown Bread And Buns

I recently came across a new range of bread and buns for the health conscious called Baker Brown produced by Wholewheat Choice Sdn Bhd. Most of the Baker Brown bread and buns are made from wholewheat.

I got a loaf of multi-seed wholewheat bread the other day. A loaf costs RM5.50. According to what is written on the packaging, the bread is 92% fat-free, has 38% seeds, has 0% cholesterol, is sugar-free, oil-free and salt-free. So how does it taste? A tad dry (coz no oil and no sugar) but it’s perfectly fine by me coz with all the yummy bread spreads that I slather on the bread, my sandwich always taste good! I find that this bread tastes much better than the Adventist flour-free sprouted wheat bread.

The buns on the left are filled with pandan kaya and green beans.  I love them and so do my gals. Each time I buy these buns, they would be walloped immediately.

I got my Baker Brown breads and buns from Desa Herbs mini mart at Taman Desa. They are also available at Sri Kota mini mart.

Cheese Spreads

This is my breakfast today:

2 slices of toasted multi-grain bread with light Philadelphia cheese spread, avocado and Steffi’s sugar-free peanut butter.  This light Philadelphia cheese spread is supposedly 80% less fat than butter or margerine, but it tastes good!

And this President garlic cheese spread tastes even better.  I love it and it goes very well with crackers, bread, toasts or even on its own.  It’s not too salty and my 2 older gals love it as well.

Baby C Just Won’t Eat Jar Food Or Cereals

I’ve tried many brands of jar food and cereals for my sweetiepie but she just hates eating them. I know homemade food and porridge are by all means healthier and tastier but jar food and cereals are by all means so much more convenient, aren’t they?   They’re God-sent for busy mummies. Sometimes when we need to go out and don’t have time to cook porridge, jar food is such a convenient food to feed her but nope, she just won’t eat them!

The other day, during our stay at Hilton Sentral Hotel, I tried my luck with a jar of Healthy Times organic mango chicken baby food for Baby C during breakfast.  I thought she would accept it as it is a savoury food, with chicken.   I was delighted when she did not spit out her first spoonful (well, it was just a quarter of spoon) of the baby food. However, with the second and third and following spoons, she was merely forcing herself to swallow the food down her throat.   I gave up and gave the jar food to my maid who liked the taste of the baby food and used it as bread spread!

My sweetiepie preferred the sliced water apple (jambu air) and pushed the jar of baby food away!

With this, I declare that my 3 girls are all the same in one way – they hate jar baby food!  And only my #2 loved baby cereals.

My Breakfast – Gourmet Cheese And Charcoal Bread

That’s my breakfast today:

A slice of bamboo charcoal bread, spread with generous amounts of yam kaya. Notice the huge chunks of yam on the yam kaya? This yam kaya is absolutely yummy…. and fattening too but oh well, eat first and exercise later. That’s my motto 🙂

Hop over to my other blog to read up more about bamboo charcoal bread and yam kaya.

A slice of apricot and almond cheese. My sil bought this wedge of cheese from Hong Kong.  I’m a bread, butter, jam and cheese person and I only like these for breakfast and nothing too heavy like nasi lemak or noodles.

What did you eat for breakfast today?

Organic Pumpkin Floss

For meat floss lovers, here’s something that’s healthier – organic pumpkin floss.  It’s made up of pumpkin, seaweed, sesame seeds and soy beans.  Tastes great when you sprinkle them onto your porridge, fried rice, steamed tofu or sandwiches.

My Wholesome Toasts

The other day, I bought a tub of Arla soft cheese with yoghurt.  It’s the first time I’d seen a cheese spread that comes with yoghurt.  This cheese spread is very light, has no preservative, low in sodium and tastes great.  I’ve been eating it almost everyday with my toasts.

That’s my breakfast yesterday :

Multi-grain and seed toasts with Arla cheese-yoghurt spread, organic ABC (almond, brazil nuts and cashew nuts) bread spread and sugar-free marmalade jam.

What a wholesome and satisfying breakfast that was for me. I for one, find it hard to eat heavy stuff like nasi lemak, noodles or other oily stuff for breakfast. When it comes to breakfast, I can never get bored with toasts and a wide variety of jams and bread spreads.
