A nagging pain from an injured lower gum is giving me the blues. I had accidentally whacked my front lower gums forcefully with the upper tip of the toothbrush where the plastic part is whilst brushing my teeth 3 days ago. I was in a hurry to brush my teeth and have a shower as the hubs was rushing me to get ready to go out… with no prior notice as usual. I get very annoyed and agitated when being rushed to do something with no prior notice given. In my haste to hurry up, I injured my gums with the darn toothbrush. You know how soft and sensitive the gums are, now the entire lower gums feel bruised and throbbing with pain. I feel as if the teeth from the lower gums will be yanked out any time. I dare not bite on any food that is hard. The pain in my gum is really giving me the blues, what more on a Monday where the blues are even more felt. Even twitching my face hurts my gums and chin now. Feel like crying a bucket and wish the pain will be gone right away!

Over a thousand advertisements written
From the time I started blogging 5 years ago up until today, I have written over 1,000 product reviews and advertorials in my 3 blogs. I have written ads on all types of products from cosmetics to baby formula, diet pills, college degrees, cars, vehicle engines, musical instruments, condoms and just about on any product under the sky that are not illegal. I can easily dish out ads on products that I am familiar with but when I am assigned to write reviews on products like p6 extreme and machinery parts, that’s when I need to squeeze out some creative juices from my brain for ideas.
Witnessed A Near-Miss Pick-Pocketing
Today I witnessed a near-miss case of pick-pocketing at the supermarket of Isetan. I said near-miss as the pickpocket thief was face-to-face with me and he stopped short when he noticed that I noticed him !! In the crowded supermarket where there was a Japan food fair on-going, the thief who looked suspicious pretended to squeeze his way through the crowd of people. I noticed him very obviously as he passed by me many times. Just when he was about to put his hand into the bag of a Japanese lady, I saw his hand and he saw me looking at him! He immediately withdrew his hand from the handbag, quickly walked away and pretended to look at some discount pool pumps nearby. I quickly alerted the Japanese woman about the thief and she thanked me gratefully. I should have alerted the security guards nearby too. I was too shocked to have reacted accordingly.
My New Android Toy
My hubs is very good at buying just the right gift for me. So far, I love all his birthday gifts to me. He had in my previous birthdays given me 2 digital cameras, a Blackberry mobile phone and the latest is a Samsung Galaxy Note. All these gadgets have helped me out tremendously in my work. When I first saw the new android phone last week, for a moment I thought that it was a rim play book. Now I am enjoying playing with my new android ‘toy’ 😀
Shopping Spree at Ikea
We were at Ikea yesterday to claim my monthly cash reward. We had earlier planned to spend a maximum of 2 hours there but ended up spending 4 hours in that giant furniture shop. If I were given a big sum of cash to splurge, I would love to get a new piece of furniture for every section of my house from the bedrooms to the living room, bathrooms and kitchen. I wanted so much to get those colorful cupboards for the girls’ room, a new sofa set for the living room, a book shelf for my girls’ expanding collection of books, some Bellini modern bar stools for the dry kitchen, an office chair for my work area and a side table for my bedroom. If we were to buy all these, we would have spent over RM10k in that store. Though we did not get anything really big, we spent over a thousand Ringgit on a shoe shelf and other accessories. It’s pretty ‘dangerous’ to step into a huge furniture shop for you will surely be tempted to over-spend and buy unnecessarily.
Pissed Off By A Sulky Contractor
For the past 3 days, our house, in particular the kitchen has been in a mess because of the repair works on the kitchen wall. The entire wet kitchen was rendered impassable and all the things were moved into the dry kitchen. Everywhere was dust and dirt. The contractor’s equipment like power drills, hammer, leveling feet, tool box and boxes of tiles were scattered in the kitchen. I just cannot stand the sulky looking contractor with dirt covered hands and feet entering my bathroom to use it! I told him to use the toilet at the pool area downstairs but he told me “you want me to go all the way downstairs to use?” OMG, who the heck did he think he was?? We are paying him, oh please, mind your manners Mr! There are still some jobs not finished yet and he still has another 1-2 days with us and yes, he is one slow worker too, who would puff away once every 2 hours, aargh!
The Stroller Accident I Will Never Forget
Shortly after Cassandra’s birth, I had wanted to get an origami stroller for her, so that I could bring her with me when I went jogging on the road. The origami stroller can be folded and opened at the touch of a button, really cool! But my hubs bought another stroller. It was a very expensive stroller and was under utilized. I find the stroller very heavy and difficult to fold and open. It was bulky too, occupying the entire car boot if we brought it out to use for outings. But it was sturdy and it probably saved Cassandra’s life during a stroller accident on the road where the stroller made a 180 degrees flip but she was still strapped safely inside the stroller. She suffered a bruised and grazed nose and forehead while I had a deep gash on my arm and leg. That was the worst accident that ever happened to Cassandra and me 3 years ago. The both of us had certainly gone through quite a bit of bitter and terrifying experiences together since her birth.
Sulfur Soap
When I was pregnant with my daughters, I had acne on my face and back during the first trimester. Towards the last semester, I had very, very dry and itchy skin all over my body. No amount of lotion and emollient could bring relief to my skin. A friend of mine who was also pregnant developed a bad bout of eczema and acne. Someone recommended sulfur soap to treat the acne but I dared not try it, lest the soap contained some chemicals that are harmful to the fetus. Recently, I saw a shop selling sulfur soaps. I read from the label that it contains minerals and sulfur from the Dead Sea. Not sure how effective it is on acne and eczema. I guess there is no harm trying if you are not pregnant.
Of Pots, Pans and Cooking
I am fortunate that I never have to cook up a storm for relatives and friends during Chinese New Year. If my mil happens to be back for CNY, she will be the chef, whipping up 2 – 3 sumptuous meals a day. She is even capable of cooking up a storm for a big group of relatives using all her high-end cookware, which she would only use if she has to cook ‘fanciful’ and ‘elaborate’ dishes. I dare not touch her cookware and collection of bakeware if she is not around, lest I accidentally break them, holy moly if I do as they are all very costly and imported! The pretty cookware and bakeware sit inside the kitchen cabinet nicely, with a layer of ‘protection’ until she returns.
I do not bake as I cannot find the time to do so, though at times I am very tempted to do some baking with my kids. My kids will love me if I am ambitious enough to let them bake some cookies with me. Whenever my mil is overseas for a stretch of a few months, I will prepare pretty simple dishes using pretty simple cookware. One time, I was so tired of cooking that I ordered some home-cooked catered food but after just one month, I gave up. No matter how busy I may be, I have since told myself that home-cooked steamed chicken and steamed fish are still way tastier and healthier than the daily catered food which I got, which was laden with oil (and I have no frigging idea what oil the caterer used) and burnt wok remnants on all the dishes!
If ever I have to take over the position of the chief chef of the house, I may buy a new collection of cookware. I will buy pots and pans that will help make my cooking sessions easier. I heard Shop Hot Pots have a good range of cookware. Busy me might just get them online since it’s so convenient. Yep, I am all for online shopping now ever since I started an online store myself.
A Future Hobby To Embark On
Each morning when I jog round the neighborhood, I would see a lady in her fifties doing gardening in her little plot of land outside her house. I grew up in a house with a huge garden and I love plants, especially flowers and trees that bear fruits. Ever since the kids came along, all my time has been centered around them and now in my online work. Each time I bump into that lady in her garden, I would imagine myself doing this when I am her age. That is when my girls would have left their nests and I would be a woman of leisure again. That is when I can embark on my hobbies, which I have a few. I would imagine my daughters giving me gardening gifts so that I could grow more plants and harvest some home-grown fruits and veggie for them too.
