Boil On My Finger – Day 3

Today is the 3rd or 4th day the boil appeared on my left forefinger. The ‘head’ looks more pronounced now as it is now yellowish and looked almost ‘ripe’. I tried to prick it open to squeeze the pus out but GAWD, it’s frigging painful! My hubs has been nagging me to go to the doctor to have the pus squeezed out. But but, I am  chickening out. I am waiting for the boil to shrivel and the pus to slowly ooze out or gets absorbed by the body (is there such a thing ah??). Anyway, the pain today is lesser than yesterday. I am quite confident that the boil will shrink and that the pus will ooze out by itself, otherwise tomorrow I will try to be more daring and try to poke poke it again until it breaks *OUCCCCHHHHH!!!!*

My First Job

My very first job was as a Stenographer. I was really green and never had any work experience. I didn’t even know how to punch holes the correct way onto documents to have them filed. I shuddered when one of my senior colleagues showed me a Velo Bind and asked me to bind some documents as I have never seen a binding machine, let alone handle it! But I gained a wealth of experience working in that bank. I also gained my maturity and wisdom working in that bank for almost 9 years.

Lucky Kids

Our kids are one lucky lot of kids. They don’t know that their daddy and mummy have been sacrificing so much for them. I have been telling my hubs umpteen times that I really want to change our mattress to a memory foam mattress even before Alycia was born. Now, 7 years on, we are still sleeping on our decade old mattress. We buy almost anything that our kids want for them. Our latest splurge on them was on a laptop and a new study table and shelf for their room. Hubs also repainted their room pink, which is Sherilyn’s favorite color. When we have kids, we tend to forget about our own needs but put our kids’ wants and needs above ours.

A Boil On My Finger

Remember my post on my left forefinger being snipped by Baby? The wound has healed nicely now but unfortunately, there is now a boil next to the wound. And it’s hurting me badly. I wonder how a boil would grow on my finger as I have never had a boil on my hands before, never in my life, though I used to have boils under my eye, under my nostrils or on my bump when I was a kid. I suspect that dirt must have gone inside through the open wound, especially when I washed Baby’s poopie bump. My hubs suggested that I go to the doctor to have a look BUT gawd, I am terrified that the doctor would snip the boil to remove the pus. Oh God, I am so worried now! I hope that the pain and swelling would subside tomorrow.

I Am Down

Achy eyeballs, headache, feeling cold, lacking in stamina when I work out, itchy nose and feverish feeling. Whenever these symptoms are displayed, I know that fever and a bad cold or throat infections are looming over me. I had these symptoms yesterday and I tried to nip the bud before a full blown flu attacks me. I quickly popped my trusted Esberitox, sipped on lemon juice with Manuka honey a few times a day and popped 2 Panadol Actifast. I am feeling better today, albeit the headache and achy eyeballs are still there. I must have caught the flu bug from my mil. And oh yes, another obvious symptom is that lymph nodes have appeared behind my ears. Each time I have a cold or URTI (upper respiratory throat infection), these tiny lymph nodes which are painful at times would appear and remain there for a couple of weeks until I have completely recovered from my illness.

Finger Got Snipped By Rascal #3

My helper was feeding Baby and she had allowed Baby to play with a pair of scissors so that she will sit still and finish her food. The scissors are meant for trimming the finger nails of babies. But it is sharp too. When I tried to snatch the scissors away from Baby, she struggled and accidentally snipped my left forefinger. Gawd, I yelled out in pain and I was bleeding badly. It hurt awfully and the cut was pretty deep. I was fuming mad with my helper for being so careless for allowing Baby to play with a pair of scissors. It’s been almost a week and it still hurts.  How can it heal quickly when I can’t avoid wetting my hands all the time washing poopied bumps right? Sigh….

Have you done your Christmas shopping yet?

Christmas is just a week away. We have only done half the Christmas pressie shopping. We must spend another day next week to complete the shopping next week. While my hubs had already bought me a Christmas pressie (which is something that I chose myself!), I have yet to get him one. I am lost for gift ideas for him. Maybe I should get him a family locket cuff link so that he can see the pictures of his 3 angels even when he’s at work. Good idea eh? Have you done your Christmas shopping yet?

New Dutch Lady Kid Chocolate Flavored Milk

Dutch Lady recently launched a new product in the market – Dutch Lady Kid and Dutch Lady School, which comes in convenient packets for kids on the go. They come in 3 variants of Full Cream, Strawberry and Chocolate. Baby and Sherilyn love the chocolate variant while Alycia is a bore when it comes to milk. She only drinks Dutch Lady 6 formulated milk and Marigold HL fresh milk and absolutely nothing else.  It’s an irony that she loves to eat chocolate but  finds it nauseous to drink chocolate milk!

When we were in Penang, I bought these packet milk for #2 and #3. When we adults feasted on hawkers food, Baby drank her favorite Dutch Lady Kid chocolate flavored milk and full cream milk with cereals.

No More Toys For The Girls

We were at the shopping mall this afternoon. When we were at the toy store, I made sure that hubs did not buy anymore toys for the girls. I knew he was very, very tempted to spoil the girls with toys and other unnecessary stuff again. This time, I made sure that his money remained intact in his wallet. My girls, they have more than enough toys.

Finally Got A Laptop

I finally got a laptop for my girls. I wanted to wait for a PC fair or some kind of sales like the Black Friday to get the laptop but I could not wait. Our friend who usually loans us his laptop each time we go to Penang was unable to loan it to us this time as his laptop konked out. So I pestered hubs to quickly get one from Low Yat Plaza 2 weeks ago. I am one happy woman now.
