I read from this mom’s blog that she used apples to cook her 2-year old toddler’s porridge. I tried it the other day and I must say, it tasted good. I like the sweetness and the fragrance of apple in the porridge.
This is the pot of apple porridge for Baby C. Other ingredients included a fist-sized piece of mui yoke (lean pork), ma yau fish, brocolli, purple sweet potato, pumpkin, 2-3 pips of garlic (good for warding off cold virus and makes the porridge tastier too), rice and millet. Even for someone like me who don’t like eating porridge find that the pot of porridge is simply sweet and tasty… even without salt, yums!
wow, pot of porridge full of ingredient…i don’t think need any salt to taste anymore..btw, too many ingredient seems like can’t really see the rice/porridge anymore.

Lemonjude… my baby doesn’t eat the pork and eats only the fish, brocolli, the sweet potato and pumpkin. That’s considered quite a bit of stuff there. The rice in the porridge is just enough for 2 meals. On top of the bowl of porridge, she drinks 1 bowl of soup and 1/2 cup of soy bean with Nutrifresh.
Mott… she’s quite a small eater actually. That pot of porridge is for 2 meals.

The HK Chinese like to boil soup with a whole apple or a Tianjin pear or even chunks of corn cob. Always found it a bit strange but tastes good.
