I had forgotten how important having data backup is until my desktop PC crashed on Friday. My PC was running and someone in the house had accidentally turned off the switch. When I restarted my PC, it was ‘hang’. The order details of my customers’ orders and their delivery details were all stored in the hard disk of the PC and I was unable to retrieve them. Consequently, I have been unable to send out my customers’ order. My PC is now ‘admitted’ and the specialist is still unable to diagnose the problem. This incident has taught me a costly lesson and I have since been doing a daily backup of my files.

I used to have blackheads on my nose, which I used to pinch and prick in an attempt to remove them but the consequences had always been disastrous. All these changed when I started an exercise regimen, which helped me sweat profusely to remove the toxins from my body. I cannot tell you how beneficial having a daily exercise regimen is. The effect regular exercise has on your physical health, complexion and mental health is substantial. I don’t need to buy blackhead cream or surf the internet on how to get rid of blackheads on nose anymore. All I need is the will power and discipline to pull myself up from bed at 6am everyday to exercise.

The durian season is at its peak again. After dinner last night, we made a trip to SS2 PJ to get some durians. There were several stalls by the roadside and all the stalls were packed with fans of durian. The roadside stalls were even equipped with a sink, hand wash liquid, tables and chairs and even baby chairs to make the roadside durian feast as family-friendly as possible. We spent close to RM400 on Musang King, which is the tastiest and one of the most superior durian species. This morning I had durian for breakfast. In fact, I have been feasting on durians for the past 1 week and had gained 1kg in just a week! While durians are irresistible, they can alleviate your blood sugar level and calories very easily. If you have been gorging on durians too and had piled up on the kilos, be sure to hit the gym or go out for a run to melt away the fat. I don’t trust weight loss products like Sensa and always ask does sensa work?

We recently removed the bulky pre-LCD era TV from the master bedroom after we read from the newspapers that a kid died when a TV fell on him. The TV was placed at the edge of our 5-tier drawer cupboard with antennas on the TV top. Now that the girls are sleeping in this bedroom, we should make the room as child-proof as possible to prevent accidents. Knowing that I have 3 hyper active and rambunctious kids, I should trust my motherly instinct the minute I sense any danger. The old TV was given away to a friend.

I am fortunate that my hubs does not smoke or booz. His only known vice to me is that he splurges on good food. I am one who hates the smell of cig smoke as I have a very sensitive nose and eyes. If your hubby is one who finds it hard to give up on smoking and you are sensitive to cig smoke, well perhaps you can check out e-cig for electric cigarettes which are battery operated! The e-cigs emit fresh vapour instead of cig smoke.

I was really upset the other day when the straps of my new Japanese flower sandals snapped and broke. I had only worn the sandals a couple of times and the sandals were not cheap. I liked the pair of sandals very much. My mil helped me to bring the sandals to the shoe repair shop at Mid Vally Megamall today but was told that it was irreparable. I really want to get a new pair of sandals that look similar to that flower sandals but do not have the time to go shopping. I am going to shop for some womens sandals online one of these days to get myself some stylish sandals. Online shopping is so convenient for busy mummies like me.

One of the hubs’ most worthy investment is on a good camcorder. He bought a camcorder when my 2 older girls were still toddlers. He had recorded many precious moments of us together with our girls and we watch those videos regularly and have a good laugh each time we watch them. If you have babies and have not gotten yourself a camcorder, go get one. There are some affordable camcorders in the market. You will have absolutely no regrets getting one. We don’t leave our house for a vacation without our camcorder.

My parents are going on a vacation again and this time they are going to Thailand. They have been globe trotting quite a bit ever since they retired. I can’t wait to retire too so that I can enjoy an Outer Banks vacation and traverse the world with my hubby. With 3 young kids, it is quite impossible to bring the whole troop along for an overseas vacation, not to mention the size of the hole on hubby’s pocket!

Over here where our weather is hot and humid, we shower from head to toe at least twice a day. On some very hot days, we show up to four – five times a day! In cold countries, people only shower once in every two to three days or perhaps once a week. They have hot tubs with hot tub covers so that the water is warm and nice at all times. Here, I can’t even stand showering with hot water. I wonder if I can endure having my shower every other day if I live in a cold country. Being a clean freak, I think I will still take my shower from head to toe in warm water at least once a day. For my readers who live in a country with freezing temperatures, how often do you all have your shower?

As I was reading the newspapers in the gym whilst working out on the Air Walker this morning, an advertisement from a local budget Airlines caught my eye. A one-way air ticket to Korea only costs RM429 and that’s a steal! This means that if we were to go to Korea for a holiday, just the both of us, we only need to spend about RM2k on the air tickets. If only we could leave our 3 kids behind and go for a holiday in Korea, just the 2 of us, how nice that would be. If we were to bring the whole jing gang along to Korea this year, we may have to get a small personal loan to fund our expenses. If everything goes smoothly this year, hopefully we can have a holiday overseas next year, keeping my fingers crossed.
