Feeling Under The Weather

I was losing my voice yesterday to flu and a phlegmy throat. I had to catch my breath when I talked as my nose was badly congested. But a mother had to do what she’s supposed to do. Instead of getting lots of rest, I did lots of talking yesterday. I also did quite a bit of the dreaded household chores as Sundays are maid-less days. Alycia will be sitting for her first term exam this week. I had to sit with her to do an eleventh hour revision. I had to help a friend to find some online presentation folder printing information but I left all my work behind and concentrated on my daughter’s revision. I hope she has done well in her BM paper today.

Cover Your Water Containers

With the water rationing exercise just kicked off in almost the entire Klang Valley, I am sure water containers and pails filled with water to the brim are everywhere in your bathroom, back yard, porch or even your bedroom if you live in a small size flat. I have 3 huge water containers and 5 pails filled with water, all ready for the dry days ahead of us. The weather is super freaking HOT, dry, HAZY, humid and there is not a single drop of rain from heaven.

Just a reminder to all you folks who are affected by the water rationing exercise, please remember to cover your pails and containers. If possible, buy water containers that come with a cover. If you buy pails, cover it with a small basin or tray. That is what I am doing. First, it is for your children’s safety. Kids can drown within seconds if they fall and have their heads submerged in water. Second, standing water is mosquitoes’ paradise! Mozzies love making babies in the water!

Apart from the water rationing menace, we are faced with haze and also a raging war with Aedes mosquitoes now. Do your part to rid mozzies from your home. Make sure water in your vases are changed once every few days. Go around your house to look for anything that could hold water and rid the water or change it.

I wish everyone affected by this very hot, hazy and dry weather to chill out. Go to the mall to chillax, have some cool drinks or frozen smoothie to bring down the heat. Love and pamper yourself – turn on the air-conditioner even if it means higher electricity bill. Let us all pray to God to open up the heavens with lots of rain real soon!

Flashback of 2013

2013 was a very busy, hectic and stressful year for me but I ended the year feeling really happy. I thank God for answering some of my prayers and will continue to ask Him to grant me my other wishes. I know He will, it will happen in His time. So I have to be really patient, like I have been. A few major events happened and it took me a quite a while to press the ‘GO’ button to make them happen. I drove the car again when the hubs gave me a new car for my birthday, I sent Sherilyn to an enrichment centre after years of procrastinating and I finally found a guitar teacher who could come to our place to teach Alycia guitar. My top on the list wish for this year is to help Cass overcome her bladder issue. I would also like to start Cass on some extra curricular activities like the keyboard or some really fun musical instruments. I wonder if she would like it I got an exciting traktor kontrol s4 at musicians friend. I know I would!

15 Years Of Wedded Bliss

This year, the hubs and I will be celebrating our 15th year of wedded bliss. It is our official union for 15 years. We dated for 10 years before signing our official papers in 1999 and our wedding ceremony was in the year 2000. Before we started dating each other, we had known each other for 6 years. He first met me at my parents’ house when I was about eleven. He was thirteen. I was his love at first sight but it was not mine 😀 Anyway, for those who persist and never give up, no matter what the circumstance, he or she will succeed in anything, including moving and capturing a person’s heart. I wonder if he still remembers our wedding anniversary. And I wonder if he will give us another set of rings for couples to renew our vows made 15 years ago.

Uterine Fibroid?

I cannot remember when I first started to have very heavy menstruation. I think I have been having it for many years.  To begin with, I have never had ‘normal’ menstrual flow or regular flows. It was worst at the peak of my PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome) days.  I would have menses several times in a year  only and even when the much awaited Aunt Flow came, it did not seem normal and lasted for one to two days. Even during my teenage years, it was not quite normal.

I never really thought that extremely heavy menstrual flow was not normal until I met up with my childhood friend yesterday.  She told me that she had had some fibroids removed from her uterus last year as she had very heavy menstrual flow and her doctor was concerned that this would cause her to be anemic.  Suddenly, it dawned on me that my heavy menses could be a symptom that I am having uterine fibroid. And this explains the extremely heavy flow with blood clots at times.  And now I know why my energy level is pit low lately.  I could be anemic!  On top of heavy menses flow, the flow would drag on for 2 weeks, with the last few days of having spotting.  Now as I am typing this, I am pretty worried.  I told the hubs that I  better fix an appointment to see my fertility specialist, who is a very detailed and good gynae.  He first detected that I had a small fibroid when I was pregnant with Cass.  Then after giving birth to Cass, the fibroid could not be seen anymore via Ultrasound scan.

I have already marked my eCalendar that I must must must fix an appointment to see Dr Chung before Chinese New Year. I have not seen Dr Chung for over 6 years.  The last time I saw him was after the Amnio test was done when I was pregnant with Cass.  Then I went to our regular gynae who did the C-Sect delivery for all my babies.  It has also been my wish to see Dr Chung again to tell him that the baby whom he was initially worried could be a Down Syndrome baby (thus ordered an Amnio done) is now a very beautiful 5YO girl.  Dr Chung detected Cass’ dilated right kidney when she was only about 17 weeks old in-utero and he has one of the best Ultrasound machines in KL back then.

Post would be continued after my appointment with Dr Chung…

Teviron Clothing

I first got to know about Teviron negative ion clothing about 7 years ago. I was on the verge of buying them for Alycia who kept falling ill. Alycia who was 3 years old then, fell sick every month on end ever since she first attended pre-school. I had tried many health products and supplements on her but none of them worked. It was after I pulled her out from pre-school that she stopped falling sick but she started to fall sick again when she resumed pre-school. I did not buy Teviron clothing for her because I was not convinced that clothing can prevent one from falling sick.

Well, I was still not convinced about the health benefits of Teviron until my mother wore them to treat her Sciatica, which gave her very painful attacks. She first purchased two pieces of Teviron underwear and after wearing them, the painful attacks miraculously vanished! My mother is someone who is extremely hard to convince to buy expensive healthcare products. But she bought two pieces of underwear costing about RM150 a piece as she was literally desperate to find a cure to the painful Sciatica.

Seeing how miraculously the Teviron underwears have helped my mum overcome the Sciatica attacks, I am now very determined to invest in some Teviron clothing for Cass to treat her weak bladder.

Here are the 4 special qualities of negative ion clothing technology.

1. Excellent Heat Insulation — Healing Warmth
Many diseases and illnesses are caused by loss of body temperature. People with these conditions need to keep warm all year round. One Teviron Negative Ion garment is as warm as two layered woolen garments or three layered cotton garments. Teviron Negative Ion garments are suitable for all seasons. You can experience the health benefits all year round.

2. Superior Water Permeability
Teviron Negative Ion garments provide superior water permeability. Moisture is removed from the skin and evaporates rapidly. This improves blood circulation and means oxygen and nutrients are efficiently transported to our cells. This causes an acidic body type to become slightly alkaline in nature.

3. Amazing Negative Ions Effect
a. Purifies the blood system, stimulating blood circulation.
b. Increases cell metabolism, causing an increase in cell activity.
c. Enhances the body’s immune system so you won’t get sick or catch cold easily.
d. Regulates autonomic nerves, enhance your health so you are always in optimal health.

4. Safety
a. There are no negative side effects because Negative Ion Clothing is not a treatment that is orally consumed or injected. The health benefits come from simply wearing the clothing.
b. Negative ion clothing is also a proven and certified fire-retardant product.

Negative Ion Clothing Can Help With The Following Health Problems

This information is extracted from the website of Nefful, USA. I have read many testimonials on how Teviron clothing have helped people with their health issues but I am not sure how genuine the testimonials are. I am now willing to give Teviron a try as I have seen how it has helped my mum battle with Sciatica.

Has anyone worn Teviron and has seen really positive and favorable outcome on the health issues that you faced? Would love to hear your reviews on Teviron clothing.

New Ambition

This school holiday, the kids spent most of their time on the desktop computer, laptop and iPad on the days when we do not have out-of-the-house activities. Alycia will be hooked on her Pokemon websites reading online comics. Sometimes she will strum on her guitar or Ukulele. Both Sherilyn and Cass are more musically inclined. They spent much of their time on You Tube, singing pop hits alongside singers. A few days ago, they have been learning how to ‘play the piano’ from this app on the iPad. Sherilyn has been telling me lately that her latest ambition is to be a singer! Well, I shall see how long her ambition lasts before she changes her mind again. It ain’t easy to make big bucks in the music industry unless you are really talented and good. Now, if you want to shop for reeds for your musical instrument, check out cheap Alexander Reeds at WWBW.

Must Not Forget About Our Passports!

Today I ransacked my drawers to look for my nikon d80 battery charger and passports. In a week’s time, we will be going to Singapore. The battery charged was found BUT the passports not! I hope history will not repeat itself. Thirteen years ago when I was about to drive to Singapore with my parents to attend my brother’s wedding, I suddenly remembered that I had forgotten to bring my passport along with me!! I sped to the bank to retrieve my passport, which was kept in the safe deposit box. That was really a tensed moment for us all. Imagine if the passport had expired, we would have all missed my brother’s wedding, phew!! After this incident, I have not forgotten about our passports anymore. I have to remind the hubs to retrieve our passports from the bank on Monday and to check the expiry dates. The girls will be utterly disappointed if our trip to Singapore has to be cancelled.

From Ukulele To Guitar

After learning the Ukulele for three months, Alycia can finally ‘graduate’ to the guitar, YAY!! For the past few lessons, the guitar teacher has been teaching her how to strum melody of pop songs. Next week, the guitar teacher will be bringing a guitar for Alycia to practise. The difference between a Ukulele and a guitar is that a guitar has extra 2 strings and it is bigger than a Ukulele. Today, Alycia had a double lesson which lasted 1.5 hours! But she did not complain of being too tired. Well, when one has passion in something, the passion rules the body. I’ll need to shop for a guitar for Alycia soon and perhaps get some used dj speakers for our living room. When Alycia gets a new guitar, Cass can have the Ukulele. Maybe I should also let Cass join in the guitar class next month. That would be another 200 bucks a month! Nah, I think I’ll wait until she is a little older and can hold the Ukulele better.

Useless Coins

Several times when I was in a hurry and did not check the change that the cashier gave me, I had accepted coins from other countries. These coins looked like our country’s 10 cents and 20 cents coins. I only realized that I was given the unusable coins when I inadvertently gave them to the cashier and was told off by the cashier. I remember scrambling my coin purse to find other usable coins but found a couple of for army coins too. Some people can really cheat their way out of the check-out counter.
