Feeling Really Agitated

Today I feel very agitated, crabby and overwhelmed with work. Must also be my hormones wrecking havoc within me and partly caused by my 3 kids. Every Saturday I will be maid-less for half a day as my mil will take our helper to the wet market. Every minute of the morning I hear screams of “mummy, I want this, mummy, please come here, mummy mummy mummy……!” It’s impossible for me to attend to 3 demanding young girls single handedly. My kids, when they want something, they want it right away. If their demands are not met, they will nag me to no end with their constant whines. My mind is somewhere else too, worrying about my expiring online assignments, what to write on md clear and matters pertaining to my online store. I need to go somewhere to chill out.

    U have a solution right there…tell the kids(and they are old enough to understand) that they need to be quiet and do their own thing(safely!!) for a couple of hours and they are not to disturb u. Of course leave some snacks and a drink of water on the table. If they have trouble telling time, then show them the clock and they are not to ask for u till the short hand reaches 3 or 4, etc. I did this with my own kids and it does work. Also, Alicia is old enuf and responsible enuf now to keep an eye on their safety.
    FYI..when my 2 got into a fight/argument and I wasn’t in the mood to figure out who is right/ wrong(and most of the time both are!), instead of sending them to their respective rooms, I’d send me to my own room, telling them to sort things out themselves. They actually got worried and I’d hear them whispering outside my door! Once they settled, then they could then knock on my door to let me know.
    Even now, when they have a disagreement, they have to sort it out themselves. Helps to have them self-assess and empower them to make informed decisions. Sorry for the rant…
