Feeling Sluggish

Something is just not right. Despite getting 7-8 hours of sleep each night for the past 3 nights (interrupted sleep though), I still feel lethargic and sleepy all the time. I’m surprised this is happening because I seldom feel this way, though I only get between 5-6 hours of sleep (also interrupted) each night. This must be my hormones playing tricks on me or perhaps caused by the stiff shoulders and neck that I got 2 nights ago. All I feel like doing now is to go to slumberland right until tomorrow morning and only write about the low cost car insurance post tomorrow.

Our Chinese New Year Holidays

Today is the fourth day of the Chinese New Year holidays and my 2 older gals are already starting to get bored. Each time they get bored, they will start to bicker and fight with each other like cats and dogs and this will surely drive me bonkers. How I wish we were now on some Disney vacation packages and away from the sweltering weather and boredom here. I can’t wait until school reopens again which is in another 5 days. How did your Chinese New Year holidays go?

Esberitox To Treat Baby’s Runny Nose

When Baby first displayed symptoms of a cold about 5 days ago (with sneezing and watery goo), I decided to feed her with Esberitox. It was the first time I fed Baby with Esberitox as it can only be taken at a minimum age of 2 years old. Baby is now 2 months shy of her 2nd birthday.  I swear by the effectiveness of Esberitox in treating cold both for me and my 2 older girls. But it will only be effective if Esberitox is taken at the onset of a cold and not when you already have a full-blown cold.  Well, this is only based on my personal experience with it.  The results will differ in different individuals.

Esberitox is a unique blend of wild indigo root, coneflower root and white cedar leaf that has been widely used in Europe for decades. This powerful combination of herbs fortifies the defense mechanism of body, enhancing to strengthen the body’s natural defense mechanisms.

I crush the Esberitox pill into powder before adding the Esberitox powder into Baby’s formula milk. I feed her with 1 Esberitox pill 3 times a day.

After feeding Baby with Esberitox for 4 days, Baby’s nose has stopped becoming watery today, which is the 5th day.

This is not intended to be a medical advice. Please consult your doctor for proper treatment.

Treating Acne With Toothpaste

During my 3 pregnancies, I did have that glow on my face like some women would have. Though I was still slim except for the belly, my face had acne outbreak during the first trimester. I dared not apply OTC pimple cream like Oxy 5 on my face and only relied on toothpaste to treat the pimples. I dabbed a small dollop on the pimples and within 2 days, the pimples would dry up. The down side of using toothpaste is that it will make your skin sting and dry up your skin, making it red and ‘withered’. Nonetheless, I still used toothpaste as it’s safer than using OTC pimple creams with potent ingredients in them. I figured that if it’s safe to put into your mouth, it’s safe for your skin too.

I read that you can also use tea tree oil or apple cider vinegar (ACV) instead as they won’t dry the pimple out as much.

If you want to use toothpaste to get rid of pimples, look for a true toothpaste, not a gel, and if you can, find one with minimal additives. Natural or organic toothpastes are a good bet, since they usually have a short ingredient list. Apply a small dab to the acne spot in question, leave it on overnight, and rinse in the morning.

Avoid popping pimples, no matter how tempting it is (sometimes I can’t resist popping them too!), because you can actually make the situation worse by causing a deep infection with your fingers that may have germs.

Here’s an article on treating acne with toothpaste from acne.about.com :

Toothpaste is often thought of as an inexpensive spot treatment for pimples, but this is one home remedy you don’t want to try. Although some swear toothpaste dries up their pimples quickly, most people will find the toothpaste leaves their skin red and irritated.

The idea to use toothpaste as a spot treatment is probably due to the fact that many types of toothpaste contains triclosan. Triclosan is an antibacterial ingredient often added to personal care items like soap, deodorant, and body wash. Triclosan effectively kills bacteria. It is actually a common addition in acne treatment products, although as a preservative and not an active ingredient.

But toothpaste also contains ingredients that can irritate the skin, especially the delicate skin on the face. Using toothpaste on an already inflamed pimple can cause more redness and irritation. Many unfortunate souls say toothpaste burns really badly when applied to a zit, and leaves the skin feeling sore for days afterward. Bottom line: Toothpaste can make your pimple look worse instead of better.

Toothpaste For Acne?

My face has always been flawless and free from zits. The only time I had acne outbreak was at the height of my PCOS disorder and during my pregnancies. I would normally use OTC anti-acne topical creams to apply on those zits and acne. However, during my pregnancies, I stayed clear from all types of anti-acne creams including proactiv solution as I was worried that these solutions will have adverse reaction on the unborn baby. Guess what I used to apply on my zits and acne when I was pregnant? Toothpaste!! I read from magazines that some ingredients in the toothpaste are good in beating those zits.

Men Hair Loss

Did you know that more than half of men suffer hair loss? Just sit inside a busy shopping mall and observe every man that passes by. You will notice that many of them are having receding hair line or are balding. Most of them don’t bother to get products to cure hair loss for men to stop their hair loss or reverse it. Maybe they would only take action when they are almost bald!

How To Keep Acne At Bay

From my personal experience, the best ways to keep those zits and acne at bay are to drink lots of plain water (water flushes out toxins from your body), eat lots of fresh fruits that are high in vitamin C, get enough sleep, keep your skin clean, exercise, move your bowels everyday, pop Vitamin E, eat a healthy diet and keep stress at bay (though this is difficult at times!). Thank God I am blessed with a flawless skin and don’t have to rely on anti-acne creams like proactiv to beat the zits.

Losing Weight Is All About Sacrifices

I know of many people who are struggling with the battle of the bulge. They go on a yo-yo diet or a crash diet, take weight loss products including trying discount diet pill, yet they don’t lose much weight. I tell them to exercise but they always tell me they don’t have the time and they cannot wake up half an hour earlier each day to exercise. To me, weight loss includes lots of sacrifices, including sacrificing a little beauty sleep. I wake up very early every morning, rain or shine to exercise. So far, my weight is right on track!

Green Tea Is A Potent Termogenic Fat Burner

One of the things that I must have every morning apart from my cuppa decaffeinated coffee is my cuppa Japanese green tea. No matter where I am and what I am doing, downing a cuppa green tea a day is a must. Today, I read that green tea extract is one of the powerful thermogenic fat burners. It’s combination of caffeine and catechin polyphenols make it a potent fat fighter. Several recent studies have shown that green tea was found to significantly decrease abdominal body fat area, subcutaneous abdominal body fat and fasting triglycerides. That means that not only is green tea extract a great fat burner, it also has a positive effect on fat in the blood! This said, in order to successfully achieve weight loss, one has to reduce calorie-intake and must exercise.

Poor Blood Circulation

I was reading the Fit4Life section in the Sunday Star newspapers last week when an article really caught my attention. There was an article on poor blood flow / circulation. The symptoms of those suffering from poor blood circulation are:

1.  Pale complexion — I am fair and at times pale!
2.  Shortness of breath
3.  Irregular heartbeats
4.  Insomnia
5.  Oedema (swelling)
6.  Dizziness
7.  Stiffness in neck, shoulder blades or lower back — I suffer from these all the time!!
8.  Varicose veins — I had terrible bad varicose veins during my pregnancies!!
9.  Osteoarthritis
10.  Numbness in hands and feet — I suffer from numbness and tingling sensation in my right hand almost every night!!
11. Poor memory — I have that too!!
12. Lack of stamina

The following statement was like a slap on my face as I encounter 5 of the symptoms :
If you encounter two or more of these symptoms on a regular basis, you may just be one of millions of Malaysians who suffer from poor blood circulation.

To improve blood circulation, you need to do the following:

1) Maintain a balanced diet — pass, I do that!
2) Healthy lifestyle — pass, I do that!
3) Regular exercise — Pass, I do that!
4) Stop smoking — I don’t smoke
5) Sit with correct posture — Fail, I must sit upright when I work on my PC. But how to when Baby is always latched on my boops?
6) Normalise cholesterol levels — I don’t have high cholesterol
7) Those with hypertension, diabetes mellitus, angina and arteriosclerosis have to be under medical supervision — I don’t suffer from any of these.

Ignoring the signs and symptoms of poor blood circulation can lead to serious repercussions. If not attended to in time, poor blood circulation can cause irreversible damage, affecting key organs of the body, notably the brain and the heart. The increased occurrence of heart attack and stroke in those below 50 is a clear testament to this!

Do you suffer from 2 or more of the above symptoms too?
