Do You Do Monthly Self Breast Examination?

I don’t and I know I must. It could save my boops and my life. My excuse? Too busy. Yea, lame excuse. Healthy should come first. After talking to a friend who told me that a friend of hers was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer, I started to do self breast examination again. Her friend was actually accompanying her mother to the hospital for consultation and while waiting for her mother’s turn, she decided to do a mammogram and then the cruel news was broken to her. She of course lost her breast and possibly her life. Effective next year when I turn 40, I should also go for a mammogram.

Do you do monthly self breast examination on your own? Or only when you go for your yearly pap smear test?

Every female, no matter the age, should do a monthly BSE, an action that can save your life and takes no more than 1 minute to do. Why wouldn’t anyone want to do that? Ppl are always talking abt taking this supplement and eating this superfood and what not to prevent cancer! What is the evidence for all that except by the companies who make these products and play on your fears? A BSE is a lifesaver, if done correctly. Best time is to do in the shower. Mammogram is important too, and depending on the age group, could be once every few years. Check with your own doc. I have one every year as I am high risk. Why? I was 6 mths inutero when my mum had breast cancer. She had a double full mastectomy plus radium Rx. The docs didn’t think the baby would survive and there was no intention to save the baby should anything happen to my mum, who, btw is still kicking at age 83!!
