Beet Root Porridge

I was told by Baby C’s surgeon that beet roots are very nourishing and nutrients-packed and he had suggested to me several times feeding baby with beet roots, radishes, peas, spinach and fresh fish.  I bought 2 beet roots the other day and grated about 1/4 of it into baby’s porridge.

Baby’s colorful and sweet porridge made up of rice, millet, grated beet root, broccoli, spinach, pumpkin, ma yau fish and pork (she doesn’t eat the pork).  It tasted really good and even I liked it!

Looks so pinky. I only like eat preserved beet root but I still don’t like the color.

  2. The raw beet root takes a long long time to soften. And yes, beet root is a very nutritious packed vege. It is great that Baby C likes beet root.

I am amazed C likes beetroot..I just learned to like them in the past year! I was only given canned beetroot before but learned fresh is so much better! It is nutritious, as is any colourful vegetable or fruit. There is evidence that cranberry helps with urinary infections but may be too sour for kids to appreciate.

I understand that beetroot is a nutritious plant. May I know where to buy this plant?

Sally… you can easily get beet roots from the wet market, pasar malam, mini marts and supermarkets.
